This years CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner goes to Joseph Altuzarra for his label Altuzarra. The award will single-handedly launch him in the right direction as the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) generously awards the winner with $300,000! But that’s not all, the winner is also held in the highest regard by the head honchos in the fashion industry.
This is not Altuzarra’s first experience with the council as last year he was a finalist as well. With the backing of the council, Joseph will soon find himself the recipient of many opportunities that would not likely have presented themselves if he were not the winner of this prestigious award.
The Fashion fund is not only supportive of the first place winner, but also of the second and third place runner ups. Thhose runner up winners were jeweler Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Chris Peters who will receive $100,000 per brand.
This year J.Crew has partnered with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund which will likely mean a collaboration between Altuzarra and J.Crew which is yet another way the fashion community supports the emerging design talents from this event.
