Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week brings us Cynthia Rowley Fall 2012.
A jacket that fits? Forget it. Cynthia Rowley is beyond sewing jackets that are fitted. For the Fall 2012 collection silhouettes had to be flopping away from the body with gusto or they simply wouldn’t be included. And not just jackets, leather tops, billowy sleeves on dresses, and encumbering sweaters as well.
And on the topic of things that the Cynthia Rowley line was not, add symmetrical. The hemlines of sweaters, skirts, and dresses were nearly all curved and made short in the front and long in the back. When mullets went out in the mid 90’s so should have these swooping hemlines. Regardless there was one brilliant thing on the runway surrounded by all the interesting patterns and floral appliqués, handbags that were made from fur.
Cynthia Rowley was absolutely on trend in the accessories section as seen by her smart choice in fabrics. The trick with these bags is to swing them when you walk as vigorously as possible to avoid the red paint that PETA will undoubtedly try to throw on you. Oh and do yourself a favor and insure it for the same reasons. Also the rest of your outfit just incase the paint misses the bag but hits you.
