Daphne Guinness is doing something a bit risqué, a bit odd, and for all the right reasons. The heiress is getting ready for the Costume Institute Gala being held at the Met in New York (A.K.A. The Metropolitan Museum of Art) get this… in the windows at Barneys!
Come May 2nd Daphne Guinness will strip, light a candle, and dance naked in the windows of Barneys while her soul decides what she should wear.
Oh? Isn’t that how everyone gets ready? (Well how else do you get ready?) Don’t ask Anna Dello Russo her lips are where I got that from!
Well then what will she do in those posh store fronts? Perhaps makeup for a crowd poised in front of a glorious vanity. Then on to wardrobe (which will no doubt be a divine intervention of couture transforming her from a semi-nude human female to the godlike omnipresent fashion being she portrays when out on the town.
All hail the marvelous socialite with the funky hair!
Will it increase awareness to the event at The Met and sales at Barneys? Well there is no doubt it is a publicity event that will drum up some traffic, and if you think for a second that a Wall Street big wig who catches a glimpse of the lovely vixen put on a pair of Wolfred stockings won’t run into the lingerie section and say to the nearest clerk “I need those leg things that Daphne is wearing in whatever size my wife is ASAP!”, think again! And as for The Met I believe that Daphne having fun with this is THE BEST way to draw eyes to the event and her outfit will inspire people to run to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and check out the pieces because they are inspired. Inspired from the beauty that Daphne Guinness continually champions.
My question… will this be on a live streaming channel? If it is I will work my magic and get that on this site for all you Daphne Lovers! It’ll be epic. Keep posted! I love great fashion news!
