What to Wear on Election Day?
In just a couple days, it will be time for the ballots to be cast, and the new President of the US to be announced. campaign managers are running around with their heads cut off and everyone else is glued to their computers and televisions. And with this excitement in the air it is best to dress accordingly. I would suggest red for the Republicans and Blue for the Democrats but that’s too obvious so how about just a simple accessory to elude to your choice. Or if you’re undecided, then a mish-mash of the two.
Obviously there are other candidates but those are the ones most talked about and where the real competition is so I’ll focus on them. A great “say something hat” may be just what you are looking for. Whether it be a casual everyday hat, or a special event fascinator, the freedom is yours to choose.
Another great accessory is to throw on a fun mix of arm candy such as a watch paired with an enamel Hermes bracelet and buddha prayer beads tied into a bracelet. Obviously you can substitute this with whatever you like but the theme is layering and playing with color. Heck you could even wear a friendship bracelet from back in the day. Or make one if you still remember how.
Another perfect way to show your celebration of vote-day is to wear a smart pair of shoes matched to your parties vision. Spring 2012 was all about the contrast sole and unless it’s snowed where you live, I say you bust them out. You know… as long as they are in-line with the parties colors you’ll be voting for. Like these blue soled Gucci suede shoes in cream.
Don’t have blue shoes? Then bust out some navy laces and tie them onto your dark brown lace-ups or boots. Be creative on Tuesday, fashion doesn’t have to take a back seat to politics.
