It is always a breath taking site when two great artists collaborate. Celeberties have become modern day muses for the vast majority of fashion designers, and it seems only fitting that Mr. Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel would be captivated by the fiery, free spirited, tempestuous lead signer of Florence and the Machine, Florence Welch.
During Chanel Ready to Wear Spring / Summer 2012 show, Paris Fashion Week on October 4, 2011 in Paris, France: Beneath the soaring glass domes of the Grand Palais, the Chanel runway was transformed and into a gleaming, pearlescent aquatic world and I was transfixed on Florence who was delicately perched on a large white shell, (as if Karl was attempting to bring Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus to life), Dressed head-to-toe in shimmering Chanel, as she sang like a goddess. At the end of the show she even took a jaunt down the catwalk, closing the show to applause on the arm of Lagerfeld.
