Great Wall, Beijing, RW&Co, Marquis and Hayden
Beijing is known for a lot of things including epic shopping, beautiful parks and gardens and of course, the Great Wall of China. When I was there for my Honeymoon, watching the sunset on the Great Wall was on the MUST DO list. Little did we know at the time, doing anything that goes above and beyond what some would consider the norm for tourists to do is seen as highly suspicious and aggressively dismissed to the point that I had to pay over 900 RMB just to hire a driver for the day to take me to MuTIanYu (慕田峪长城 which is a more natural, less restored part of the wall) which also happens to have a slide that after you’re finished exploring the wall will take you from the top of the wall to the parking lot below. SO FUN!
At least that’s what Hayden Christensen said when I spoke to him last week at the RW&Co and Hayden Christensen collaboration party. He actually had a video on his phone of him going down the slide! So apart from being one of the most stylish guys I know, a charmer and an A-list actor he also knows how to have a good time in a foreign land.
Don’t get too crazy disappointed though, he wasn’t there on his honeymoon… (even though him and Rachel Bilson have been together for quite a while…since 2007!), but rather just taking a break after a grueling working on a new film in the surrounding area.
Meghan (my intern) was enamored with Hayden (for obvious reasons) and while he is 6’1″, she was 6’4″ with her heels, so he had to go on tip toe to see eye to eye. It was a super cute moment that I luckily managed to capture. I couldn’t help but think that filming with Natalie Portman in Star Wars must have been challenging as there was about a foot difference in their height. She must have been on tip toe the entire time!
And in a different yet related Star Wars reference I kept wanting to call him Ani and asking him about slaughtering orphans… Luckily for my reputation I didn’t have time for it. Anyway I’m sure he gets it all the time.
But aside from the shared enthusiasm for meeting and chatting with Hayden, we were also over the moon about these mustard colored pants. Each of us bought a pair and after seeing how Christensen wore them low slung and loose fitting the appeal is obvious. I first tried them on in my size but then quickly ended up sizing up and wearing them super loose and baggy. I felt cool. Not as cool and Hayden… But pretty cool.
What did you think of the collection guys?
