Gwenyth Paltrow Leaks the First YSL Handbag Designed by New Head Designer Hedi Slimane
There is so much hype over the new designer at Saint Laurent Paris that people are literally clawing and scraping to attend the show in Paris come this October. Through the dissolution of the brands eponymous logo and name, the French fashion house has undergone other mega changes including moving the design office to L.A.. These changes have left many with a bad taste in their mouths and want to see the first collection to be astounded or terribly dissatisfied. The first hint of the line showed up yesterday when Gwenyth Paltrow wore a handbag believed to be from the up and coming collection.
The bag is a pale grey color with a large body, structured handles and an over the shoulder strap. Perhaps this is a clue into the upcoming show and it’s color palatte? According to Pantone (the world renowned authority on color), said that titanium was one of the colors that would be popular for Fall 2012. Will that color trend continue to Spring 2013? Is this an example of titanium being thrust through the seasons and a symbol of the staple color of Spring?
Personally I hope not. Though grey definitely has its place, I certainly don’t see it as the staple of the most coloful season in fashion. Either way if the bag is in fact YSL then we do have an insiders view on the silhouette of the handbags and where the rest of the leather goods will follow suit. Maybe… possibly… But to be honest I am not sure if I even love this bag. It is a nice shape, it has a sturdy base with a soft structured feel, but is it nice?
What do you think of the new style? Is it all you expected and more? Tell me in the comments below!
