International Brand Lands a Beautiful New Store
When fabric and quality are your main concern, there is little that will stand in your way. Such is true when it comes to the J. Crew brand. The newest addition to the J. Crew family, a medium sized retail location in Edmonton had it’s opening party and invited the cities stylish bloggers and reporters to experience an evening of eye-popping color and delicious catering by Whisk Catering.
The air was tingling with anticipation and for one special evening before the store was opened to the public, the bloggers and scenesters got to dive in and play dress up with the Spring Summer 2012 merchandise from J. Crew and J. Crew Collection. The first thing I realized was that they have a personal shopping department. Something a bit different for a middle line store but I can see how it would be helpful. After winding through the store and taking in all the gorgeous products it was very aparent that even after staying there for two and one half hours that I didn’t get to see everything that medium store had on it’s shelves.
My old pal Ken (who is now a personal shopper at J. Crew) explained to me that the personal shoppers can order things in that are not in this location (or other smaller stores), can style you from head to toe, and can even style your significant other from that boutique even though they don’t carry the men’s line. Yeah you heard me correctly, they don’t have the men’s line in that store. But if all goes according to plan the nice people at J. Crew will bring in an assortment of men’s products or even open a Men’s boutique. And trust me… with the products in that store, there is no way things can go awry. That being said, with cantankerous optimism I make this statement: J. Crew will get the menswear line in the next year.
Well… Here’s hoping anyhow.
But in the meantime you can check out their online store that ships pretty much around the globe.
On the next few pages are some images I took from the party of the great new store. Check them out and be sure to let me know if you have questions regarding outfitting or the best way to get that effortless trendy look that J. Crew does so well. Enjoy!
Oh and since the store doesn’t sell men’s I don’t feel conflicted talking about my wardrobe. I’m wearing a Modern Tailor shirt and suit jacket (that I custom designed (make yours here now)) Naked & Famous raw black denim, Prada loafers, Prada Lapis belt, and a silver pocket square from Holt Renfrew to top it all off.
This lady seemed particularly interested in this hot orange Jacket. I don’t blame her.
Did I mention they do a lot with color… bright color.
Yes. I love that Chanel inspired tweed in tangerine, but LOOK at that white skirt with the blue print. That’s a skirt that takes a party by the b@lls and shakes it up!
Floppy hats are a must and this is where to get them. You are instantly more stylish with a hat on, and a nice hat, like the ones in this image, are really going to help define and accentuate your style.
Here is that tweed again… I wonder if it would fit me…
Thanks a bunch for checking out my post on J. Crew, it was a pleasure to check out the store for the first time and have a glass of white to toast the opening of this great new addition to Edmonton. Thanks J. Crew for having me.
