2012 International Fashion Showcase
With the London Olympic Games nearing ever closer, the excitement is building, not only for sport enthusiasts but fashion lovers alike. The London games have gone out of their way to incorporate fashion into the world event, team outfits designed by Stella Mccartney and now they have just recently announced that the highly regarded, International Fashion Showcase is to take place during this seasons (February 2012 for Fall) London Fashion Week, unveiling the work of over 80 up and coming international designers. This ties in very well to Fashion 2012 Cultural Program set up for the up and coming games.
This project is the work of the British Council and the British Fashion Council (BFC). The incubator program will bring 19 cultural institutes across the London to display the work of their designers from countries around the globe, including: Australia, Belgium, China, Korea, Italy, Japan, and the USA.
Should you find yourself in London from February 1 st to the 19th, you may witness the creations of these talented rising stars. This years chair is Sarah Mower, she along with a panel of judges will announce the winner on the 19th.
Th nternational mix of designers will include and feature graduates from US design school Parsons; Xander Zhou, who was listed in the Forbes Top 25 most influential people in the Chinese fashion industry and Kaspar Paas, winner of the Estonian Young Designer Award who currently designs for John Lobb and is set to kicking off his namesake footwear label sometime within the next month. Song For The Mute, Limedrop and Dress Up will representing Australia and Korea will be showing their talent to world via Ara Jo (ine of Lady Gaga’s top designer pals).
