Masaya Kushino Crazy High Heels
You may remember back when I did the Noritaka Tatehana article where I covered some of the craziest shoe designs I’ve ever seen in my life. But as usual… I loved the odd fabulous works of art. Today a new brand of insane heels has been dropped into my lap and this designer is as magical as Tatehana’s if not more so.
The designs often consist of fabrics that are not typically present in shoe design including human hair, plants, and animal horn to name a few. The end result (as you can imagine) is often works of art that truly belong in an exhibit or an archive of some sort to be gawked at and laughed at by non-fashion related pedestrians. However, all the designs created by Masaya Kushino can me made to order and are hot sellers.
JUST KIDDING! These intriguing beauties are NOT for walking in but are heels none-the-less so here I am writing about them for you. Though the shoes are more art exhibit than wearable fashion, the designer has worked on a collaboration with SOMARTA labelled SOMARTA X Masaya Kushino. Those were for sale and had gold gilding, fur and the typical exotic elements you’d expect from an artist like Kushino.
These light-up shoes were put on a Geisha and stomped across Japan. They are a favorite for photographers and stylists and can you guess why? Cause they’re FAB!
Express your love of a particular season with these lively floral arrangements. I would cry if someone wore these as it would probably annihilate the arrangement and kill the precious botanicals.
Craving a bit of Steam Punk wonderment? These heels should leave you twisting moustache wax into your lovers curled up stache. They exude quirkiness and will single handedly win yu an award for best costume design at any Comic-con in the world.
In short I am in LOVE with this designer and hope to see more. Maybe even some wearable styles for men?
