Men’s Back to School Shopping Guide Fall 2012
Okay guys, here is your essential shopping list for the next year of school. Of course this all depends on your major but if you are in business then you should probably get a really good suit and for info on that check out this article on suit essentials. As for the rest of your wardrobe you should have about 7 dress shirts, and a dozen other polos, T-shirts, and sweaters for a good mix. Toss in 4 pairs of denim and a few different pants and you’re on a role. Now, since you are here and interested in Fall 2012 trends, here are some great tips to follow to look stylish and sensible.
Buy Pants, Shirts, and Jackets with Vibrant Prints on them. Whether they are microprints from Raf Simons or printed pants from Dries van Noten, the concept is the same… anything else is boring. Spice up your school year with some wild prints or intricate patterns and break away from the blacks and greys that are an easy go to. If wearing loud prints isn’t your thing, pick up a paisley wool scarf by Etro in your school colors and impress even the most discerning fashion enthusiasts in your class.
Buy a Leather Bomber preferably one with Shearling. That way you can nail two trends on the head at once. Leather is as huge for men as it is for women so whether you are getting that perfect leather bomber that’ll last you until you grow out of it, then pick up some leather pants or at the very least a nice pair of lamb skin gloves. Investing in leather (even if it is simulated leather) is a safe bet for Fall 2012 and all year round.
If the thought of joining the military excites you then this next trend will likely comprise most of your current wardrobe. The infantry is in and so are their clothes. Epaulettes, structured outerwear, and Military Green are all in style now so pick up some aviators and throw some green into your new school wardrobe. Green is one of those colors guys typically shy away from but army green goes well with most skin tones and complexions and will match with most of your other clothes.
Lastly don’t forget to pick up some clean underwear and socks. Obviously printed undies are fun but most guys prefer simple white so whatever floats your boat… Oh… probably not the most appropriately timed euphamism (or is it an idiom??? anyway)… awkward!
Cleanliness may be close to godliness but being a dirty student only makes you a single dirty student so wash up and don’t forget to ask the person working the fragrance counter for samples of the cologne you wear and leave some in your locker alongside a stick of deodorant for those just in case moments. Also if you have longer hair it is wise to leave some dry shampoo in your locker too just to cleanse and volumize your hair after any physical activity without taking a full shower. Though a full shower is obviously preferable sometimes it isn’t possible so dry shampoo is your friend.
There, now you’ll look great and won’t smell bad. You’re welcome.
