Once you get over the backdrop that the Missoni Resort 2012 looks were up against, then you will see a line that is strongly influenced by the sea and freedom in a 70’s flower power kind of way.
The silhouettes and head gear may have been 20’s but the feeling was all love and peace. And what a better time to show a collection that’s main color is blush. Sure the latter half of the collection was all jewel tones but they were still reserved to the purples and pinks.
For daywear the looks were long jackets ripe with detail and tiny detail that matched with flood pants of a matching pattern. the tops were a light blend of peach and oatmeal that would literally go with everything. As per usual Margherita Missoni made sure the line was chalked full of accessories including head scarves and plentiful beaded neacklaces.
CUTE BAG ALERT! The pyrite looking chain link handles on some of these bags was absolutely adorable and encompassed the resort collection for this fashion blogger. Brown leather framed a slip tie hobo bag with cream fabric patches complete with mandarin waves matching the very bright orange plastic chain handle. I assume around $1385.00 this bag will make it’s way into some VERY fashionable hands and rock it’s way to Vegas and L.A. clubs all year long.
The evening wear was all purples and rich amethysts, a color palatte I can relate to. The other focus was sky blues and cut out prints. Literal Gingerbread cut outs showing beautiful sky patterns through bringing a smile to the most militant leaders.
I want to touch on the woven bottoms that brought color and fun to some of the dresses making even the most cynical skeptic stop and appreciate the work that goes into a Missoni piece. the other aspect of Missoni dresses for the resort fashion collection is the way Margherita Missoni literally made the dresses appear as if they were blossoming along the skirt portion of the dress and the meticulous work that went into these resort 2012 dresses is painfully evident.
