Top Trend from the Oscars
Through all the dresses on the red carpet, there were… wait for it… TRENDS! But to avoid boredom I’m going to cover only one major trend that I feel is worth covering which is the nude/colorless trend that was seen all over that celeb covered red carpet. Some years there is an overdoes of red, others gold (or metallics in general) but this year the critics were hooked on the colorless gowns for better… or worse.
Starting with Amy Adams whom I thought was an inspiration for all women today. Her Oscar de la Renta made my best dressed list and was in fact an incredible gown well enough on it’s own. Amy just made it stand out and represented the Oscar flowing silk feeling with such grace and elegance. If her hair were a shade darker, or her skin a shade paler this would have been a disaster. But because she was exactly who she is, it worked.
Jessica Chastain wore a dress by Armani Prive and let me tell you something… this look was NOT easy to pull off… hell even I bashed her. But let’s digress for a moment and put ourselves in her shoes. She is, this woman, who can act out any role at award winning standards all while looking gorgeous for red carpet events and awards ceremonies. With a social calender as packed as Chastain’s it’s no wonder she wore what she did to the Oscars… I’m kidding, the nude on nude on nude wasn’t that bad. :0
Jennifer Lawrence was my hero in her Dior Couture gown. And can I say you are crazy if you didn’t like this dress. it was heaven on red carpet and anyone who’s anyone would think so… JK but seriously it was gorgeous. Was it a nude dress? Yes. Was it a wedding dress? Yes. It is a sign of something to come? I don’t know… Let’s ask Esmeralda the fortune telling horse whisperer… Point; Lawrence looked amazing and perpetuated my point of nude and colorless dresses are where it’s at, so it’s a good thing.
From the red carpet to the streets… wear a colorless dress this season and shine bright like a diamond!
