This Zac Posen show was his best Z Spoke collection yet! Commercial, elegant, and it used materials that are normally found in Couture shows like leather and fur.
Some of the colors used in the collection were burgundy, midnight blue, charcoal tweeds, and winter white. The single greatest styling moment in the collection was the scarf tied at the neck on half the looks. It was businesswoman extraordinaire and beautifully replaced the more traditional men’s inspiration, the tie.
It is always nice to see the handbags that Zac produces each season as they are usually quite zany and often a leap in technological wonder in terms of his hardware choices. For Fall 2012 Posen took to frame style bags and brushed gold hardware. At times, however, there was no hardware to be seen. This was because the bags were made of full exquisite furs that billowed out and spilled over the models hands creating a very luxurious style handbag and one that will be huge for Fall 2012.
The dresses used in the collection were quite fitted to the body and made to emphasize the female form. Body hugging jersey, cottons, and velvets worked well on the thin models wearing them. One thing is for certain though, anyone with a body composition of over 15% will not look that great in these dresses. They are meant for a fit woman with some curves yet a smallish chest. Hopefully the samples are slightly disproportioned and when the collection hits stores, that it will be a more standard silhouette.
