Couture Spring 2012 Behind the Scenes.
Haute couture is the most magnificent time of the year and it opens it’s doors to the industries leading models, most expensive shows and clothes, and the worlds most affluent clients. But there is a side to Couture that you would never see unless you were invited backstage that is alive with fun anxious energy: the behind the scenes shots.
You can literally see the models gyrating with excitement before walking out in the looks that took hundreds of hours to create. They were nervous for the show, but also to wear the dresses that will go from their slender frames to those of the world most affluent women in the most prestigious jobs. This thought alone sends shivers down the harshest of fashion critiques.
But somehow through the tension comes a giggle, a funny pose, and a full out belly laugh from back-stagers, the make-up team, or the couturiers on site finishing up the last details. These are the moments of the haute couture season that are as precious as the bejeweled croc pieces at Dior, the structured dresses of Versace, the eclectic colors of Jean Paul Gaultier, the voluminous head pieces at Alexis Mabille, or the upside down tornado hats at Armani Privé.
