Wearing a Yellow Shirt
The color isn’t easy to pull off and yellow is difficult to wear if you have fair skin… But, if you follow these simple steps you can wear this color and other lighter brighter shades with ease. Here is an image of my bright yellow top and the outfit I wore. Below is a few steps to ensure you look.. this good. 😉
First off, being a the pasty white color that I am makes it difficult to pull off certain bright colors namely this highlighter yellow shade, neons of any color and even most lighter shades of green, blue and other “fun” colors. A simple solution to this is wearing a self tanner or small amount f bronzing powder. Make sure the powder is close to your actual skin tone (you don’t want to look like a member from Jersey Shore) and also make sure to remove any extra powder or else it will soil your bright colored tops. Another common mistake is to go out, get a spray tan then then toss on a shirt in a lighter color. The shirt will get stained by the spray and your yellow will look a brownish mess around the collar and cuffs.
I paired the shirt with a muted blazer in an ash-grey tone and the coupling went off without a hitch. I could have also worn dark brown but instead went for a subtler look.
That lovely lady beside me is Chantel Bedward (http://about.me/pinkie) she’s as gorgeous from the front as she is from the back!
The jacket has a single vent and is actually a touch snug (which I prefer), but it works with the slim fitted shirt and my flair for fun. The look was certainly lively and coupled well with a few drinks.
I paired the yellow shirt with these indigo chords because they are complimentary colors and I got compliments from complete strangers last night. It may be a bit colorful for Fall but as Spring 2013 arrives in stores I couldn’t resist.
