Anna Wintour Fashion Majesty
With the power of Vogue backing your every move, there isn’t much that you couldn’t get away with. Anna Wintour hosts a number of parties every year that have attendees such as Obama, Giselle, Oprah, and other mega celebrities that are on every A-list but are beyond lists at the same time. Her power stretches to all corners of the globe and her influence is seemingly unbridled and unmatched. There have been others who attempted to have sway like Anna but they may as well be the assistant who gets her Perrier.
Why? Why does Wintour get to walk into a room full of V.I.P.’s, snap her fingers and have an organizer tell the designer to start the show or she’ll leave? That’s balls. Actually I am positive that if the size of balls are indeed the reason why CEO’s are as cut-throat as they seem to be then hers are like two moons made of titamiun that she hides under her Chanel. Either way there is one thing that holds true, Wintour is powerful and what she wants gets done. Like when Amiel said in MacLeans back in 2006 “The notion that Anna would want something done “now” and not “shortly” is accurate.” I think she just doesn’t have time for waiting. She has the entire fashion world on her couture lathered shoulders.
How did the entire realm of fashion let one woman be in-charge of the fashion galaxy? Everything that is fashion is somehow influenced or touched by Anna in one way or another. She is like the Stalin of the industry. When a President runs his or her term, then they are re-elected or swapped out. Anna has been president for… Well for a VERY long time. And I don’t even necesarily have a problem with the way she runs her fashion nation but I also think there comes a time when all good things come to an end and then a new great thing comes down the pipeline.
If fashion is always lookng forward, why is the leader a relic of the past?
Anna Wintour is a lot of things:
- A talented Editor In Chief
- A hard working individual
- Able to make a room cold with her presence the same way a dementor can
- My Goal Weight
- And a senior citizen (62 years of age (November 3, 1949))
I think Seniors are amazing people who can accomplish more than a lot of people and Anna’s age is not my main issue, but it is becoming an issue. For example what is with these shoes she wears to every single event. They are the same… every time… sometimes in different colors… Can they fit her orhto’s? I’m just throwing that out there? I don’t think the Queen Bee of fashion can get away with wearing the same shoes every day. Same bob yes… same shoes.. No.
What if Anna Wintour retired? Guess what? Fashion would continue on it’s merry way and the people at the top of Vogue will surely do a fantastic job where the eponymous Wintour has left off, no? Then again… Anna says “You either know fashion or you don’t.” So maybe she IS the only one who can do the job. Perhaps all the other candidates would find her job impossible and the magazine would have suffered. Plus there was that list…
