As a fashion blogger it is important to know and understand what has changed the face of fashion and who has changed it. And Andy Warhol was definitely one of the people who has changed fashion… and art indefinitely.
Andy Warhol born August 6th 1928 was a genius as he was coming out of the womb with paintbrush in hand and wig on head. He wasn’t a typical artist though as his art style didn’t match many of the great artists before him, but he was a great artist and visionary regardless.
Many of his talents were in Commercial illustration where he would draw shoes and other things from magazines etc. Of course aside from his portraits of famous celebrities his Campbells soup screenings were among the few pieces of art that are almost as iconic as a photo of Andy Warhol himself.
His movies were groundbreaking at the time and truly captured Warhol’s state of mind. For instance in the 60’s when everyone was hopped up on amphetamines and sleep seemed to be a scarcity he thought I’m going to film 8 hours of solid sleep before it’s too late and people stop doing that.
Hew later went on to create a movie called eat… one can only surmise that he was hungry. End of story.
Moving along my trip to the exhibit was very cool and I’m glad I get to see pieces of work from the late Andy Warhol up close and personal. Just think that Andy Warhol’s couldn’t sell for $100.00 at one point. And at another point they were going for $100,000,000.00! Honest! Love you Warhol!
