Historic and desirable Parisian design house, Balmain, has announced that it has chosen its new Creative Director. The fashion house announced that its previous Director, Christophe Decarnin, would be leaving this month due to, well no one really knows, but the anticipation of who will take over the acclaimed designers position is now over.
Balmain announced earlier today that Olivier Rousteing, the current head of the women’s division at Balmain, has been appointed the new Creative Director.
Rousteing graduated from the design school, École Supérieure Des Arts Et Techniques De La Mode in Paris in 2003, and spent several years perfecting his skills at Roberto Cavalli. The France born designer has certainly just landed the career opportunity of a lifetime and I for one am absolutely routing for him.
I freaking LOVE Balmain, and as sad as I was to see Christophe leave (I certainly wish him the best), I have to admit I am excited to see what Olivier has in store.
