America’s Next Top Model Gets a New Judge
Here’s an interesting tale, so this great show hits the air May 2003 and it is full of models, fun fashion personalities, and a fun new concept. Then ratings soared and everyone involved launched their unique separate careers and a few of the actual reality T.V. stars became someone. After a great long run the show… decided to keep going and tried to reinvent itself with crazy new people and put the contestants through dangerous humiliating stunts like large swinging pendulums on a runway, or catwalks that had moving floors in different directions while the models tried to walk in heels, and (my favorite) when the models had to walk on a floating catwalk in a pool of water.
As the show became more like an obstacle course and less like a professional show to bolster a models skills and industry knowledge some great people fell by the wayside like Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker, and Jay Alexander. With these familiar faces out of the picture there has to be an injection of new blood, something that would fit in with the new crazed jungle-jim that had become ANTM. Enter Bryanboy. Fashion’s town drunk and hilarious haphazzard fashion victim.
Yes a blogger by trade but Bryanboy has become something so much more than that, an icon for the exact place that the
fashion industry world lost it’s mind and took an extra hit of crazy melted down into a spoon in a backalley where the walls were painted in rainbow and plastered with square sequin paillettes. His ability to wear heels is impressive yes and his ability to toss on glittering pants or full on drag is another quality I’d add to a resume however… that doesn’t mean you should be a judge on ANTM or poses the necesary knowledge skills or abilities to sit on a panel of industry professionals and determine a young girls future. America’s Next Top Model has the ability to make or break the future of a young model and that should be placed in knowledgeable hands that have respect and love for the industry and the people within it.
I guess I just have to say “good luck” to all the contestants on cycle 963 or whatever it’s on now because you’re going to need it. Oh and follow his tweets so you can know every possible detail that is going on in his life that day just to choose a strategic course of action when speaking to him. My advice is to avoid him when he and his bf get into a fight. Or when he’s hating on Philipino’s… or whatever it happens to be that day.
