Just Cavalli Cruise 2013
Hold onto your hat because the Just Cavalli resort collection is here and the prints are wilder than Robin Williams in Jumanji. Imagine flowers mixed with foliage, then throw in a cheetah for good measure then BAM you nearly have one of the prints. So then add neon green, pink, yellow, and orange and then BAM, you have one of the prints used in the Just Cavalli 2013 Resort show.
The looks were so powerful that even the moments when the all powerful black trend made an appearance, the looks were still outrageous and full of pop and zazz. Even the baseball style hats had ornate prints of lime green against white and every inch was consumed with abundant foliage looking detail. That is a word that would encapsulate this collection, detail. There was so much detail that every single look could take hours to fully understand and appreciate.
The only metal that was used in the collection was gold and when it was inlaid into shoulders or made into a belt, it was reflective and from a rich 24 carat coloring. Another element to the collection was the symmetrical prints on caftans, long elegant dresses, and gorgeous tops. A few other collections have implemented this digital printing method such as the Birds of Paradise Givenchy collection, the wild prints of Versace Redy-to-wear and then again for the Versace for H&M collection. These prints are as psychedelic as they are fabulous and they always have a place in fashion especially for the Resort 2013 season.
The feral designs are offset by pleated school girl style skirts, lace underlay tops, and capped sleeve dresses. When such lush prints are used, a more basic silhouette should be implemented as to not make the collection too busy. Luckiy for the design crew at Just Cavalli that balance was met and vibrancy and subtlety went hand in hand.
