From blacks and greys to colors of the most vibrant tones Chanel is seen through a kaleidoscope for Fall 2012.
The Grande Palaise was outfitted with giant crystals which were used to impress the beauty of nature, their skyscraper silhouettes, the colors associated with crystals, and the geometric shapes that crystals are so known for. Karl is a genius who takes an inspiration and uses it to it’s full potential. His collections are often a full breakdown of the singular inspiration by incorporating silhouette, color, texture, and even the feeling of the muse.
The crystalline structure of the clothing was not as rock solid as one might imagine. The pieces were all rounded shoulders and soft tweed structures. Where there were some solid lines, were on a few of the outer shells. Patterns emerged on tweeds in bright colors and enamel outfit jewelry.
Of course with a crystal inspired show comes some pretty incredible jewelry. Various types of stones were seen on cuffs, necklaces, and earrings. The handbags got their fair share as well but the styles of the handbags were similar to seasons past with not a huge focus on the crystal inspiration in this particular area.
From Alicia Keys to Katy Perry and Princess Siriwanwaree Nareerat of Thailand, the house was packed and the fashion flowed. The wearable as well as beautiful collection should hit stores in September and move from shipping crates to the hands of stampeding Chanel fans. There is one thing that is for certain, the shoes that were all scuff dyed different colors with their chunky lucite heels will be one of the hot items for purchase this upcoming Fall 2012 season. Alongside the rest of the collection.
