Givenchy Skirt For Men
As you’ve known for a while I’ve been intrigued by men’s skirts and am now officially obsessed with this Givenchy introductory skirt for men that can be worn at work, to a black tie event or just shopping at the mall. Fact is, the skirt is meant to be worn over pants so it’s literally the first step for men to start wearing skirts as a wardrobe essential. How exciting!
I say exciting because this means that the possibilities for men to have equal wardrobing opportunities is upon us. Will men ever wear dresses openly in public? Perhaps. Do we want them to? perhaps not. But the difference between shorts and a skirt is an inseam so let’s face it, that will be on the street far sooner than a dress ever will be.
Anyway, back to the skirt I was originally talking about which is made of wool and gabardine and is really only a waist band with a flap in the front and a flap in the back. It’s actually more of a belt with some squarish flaps that fall handsomely to the front and back complete with a zip fly and sewn in welt poskets in the back much like dress pants. When worn with a longer shirt as a layering option over-top and a leather or regular wool sports coat it’ll look amazing.
The look was worn on the runway with a long printed top, and gladiator sandals. I would recommend wearing a sleekloafer or Chelsea boot under a full length slim cut pant in wool/gabardine material.
I found the skirt on sale at Louisaviaroma and they surprisingly still have sizes and colors (beacuse it came in white as well as black) available. The price is around $400 which I can totally justify because of all the obvious tailoring that went into this. Here is the link to purchase the skirt.
