H&M Opens New Luxury Stores.
H&M is not typically known for luxury goods but what if they were? The mega chain announced last week that they were going to launch a new chain of stores for 2013 and the only avenue the clothing giant’s haven’t explored yet is the high end department store niche. The Swedish company already owns a high end brand “COS” which retails from 5€ to 250€ for both men and women, but perhaps this is an effort to place their higher end line in countries other than the 18 European countries the COS line is already situated in?
The new chain will be independent and created to compliment the other offerings from the group. That is what the H&M’s CEO Karl-Johan Persson said while discussing the advantageous opening of the new chain. Another hint came when the latest three month report came from H&M stating that their latest project would be of a similar vein to COS. Hopefully this means that & Other Stories will not only be placed in European Cities but rather be of a higher quality and made to peak interest to a more refined clientèle.
Regardless, if the H&M group is adept at one thing, it is creating hype around their new ventures. Whether it be a designer collaboration, a sale or new arrival, or a new chin of stores, the launch will e epic and is not to be missed. As more details emerge we will release them here and fill you in on all the talk from Europe to the rest of the world.
One detail that be of interest, is that COS specializes in Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s wear so it is likely that the new retail chain will also feature a similar set of departments for your shopping pleasure.
But then again it may be a cat store with oodles of catnip filled bouncing balls… hopefully not…
