What happened behind the scenes of the Lady Gaga Vogue Cover?
This September’s Vogue cover girl is Lady Gaga and though her wardrobe is all Marc Jacobs this time, her look is fierce and ferocious surrounding the blonde wig that has all the girls and boys chanting “GAGA GAGA GAGA.” Her cover certainly proves that while some thought of her as finished, her position as queen of the pop world is still in good standings at least by Vogue standards. So what happened behind the scenes of the Vogue shoot? Did Gaga compromise on her style or did she hold true to her roots the way she did on her last cover shoot with Vogue?
The new Queen of Pop won’t wear a thing if she doesn’t know who designed it or where the inspiration for the garment came from so the same can be said as she donned the fuscia dress created by Marc Jacobs especially for Gaga’s September cover. At the menswear Spring 2013 Louis Vuitton collection, designer Kim Jones decided to use denim patchwork which was inspired from traditional Japanese boro, Marc Jacobs appreciated the idea and took it one step further for his womenswear namesake label and of course, Gaga’s dress. All of these elements of history and tradition mixed with the new and fabulous coloring and styling were likely what drew Lady Gaga to this dress.
When Vogue released the video that featured Gaga, her blonde mane knew no bounds and her magenta gown was a total compliment to her stylish statement of loud fashion candy. Watch the video below and revel in the exclusive September issue photo shoot and all the background fun that took place. You also get to see some pieces that haven’t been leaked to the public yet so we should have a pretty good idea of what we will see in the September issue of Vogue which will hit stands shortly.
