Leather is going to be a mega trend for Fall 2012 and it isn’t just for leather coats or pants any longer, now it is the entire look.
In Milan during Men’s Fashion Week the models have been head to toe leather. from their shirts and ties, to their pants, blazers, and trench coats. The appeal may be the longevity of the industrious fabric, or the juxtaposition of durability and supple qualities that only leather embodies. Either way there is no doubt that this trend is huge and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
If you are among the fashion forward people who will be wearing the all leather look then here are some helpful tips that will see to it that you don’t look like a hunter.
If there is a layering of leathers example shirt and blazer, or tie and shirt, then be sure to invest in top quality leather for the shirt. It must be soft, well tailored, and most of all thin. when there is layers of bulky leather you will come across as a camper or a man who skins his own animals after he hunts them and that is never an attractive quality. Another thing you want to consider is the color of the layered leathers. I believe wholeheartedly in playing around with different colors of leathers and having fun with layering BUT, if you want to play it safe and want to be sure not to botch your look, then stick to one color of leather from one company or dye lot. Leather is a tricky thing and getting different colored leathers that both look like the same shade is all too common so be sure to buy them in a well lit store and NOT online.
