An $800.00 Waste on Prada Boots
Five years ago I tried on a pair of leather soled Prada shoes. I loved them but, as I am on my feet a lot, I opted for a rubber soled version. One that the sales attendants told me it was a smart choice for someone who prefers comfort over tradition. Where do I sign up? I walked out of the store not thinking twice about my decision to go rubber.
Recently while wearing the Chelsea boots (which are in amazing condition because I’m not at all hard on my shoes and take time to take take good consistent care of them), I noticed that the soles were getting really worn down and was worried about it so I went into a cobbler to see what my options were.
He said because the soles were one piece… I was hooped. Unless I could order a whole new sole, there was nothing he could do. So I took off to the Prada store to see if there was a hope. Sadly, the polite staff there told me that it could not be ordered and I was… you guessed it… hooped.
So here I am with a beautiful pair of Prada boots in near mint condition that can’t be worn. S. A. D. D. A. Y.
Yesterday it was raining… Guess what. My feet slowly but surely,,, got wet. Like squishy wet! The boots wore down so much that when it rains water seeps in through the worn down sole!!! AAAGGGHHH!!!
So naturally, since I am stuck here with no options I decided to write this blog post as a warning to everyone who will ever want to invest in a pair of gorgeous Prada Chelsea boots with rubber soles. Don’t do it! They simply aren’t worth the near $800.00 price tag.
Instead go for the durability of a leather sole that stands the test of time and at the very least keep your feet dry. Also you can add on a rubber sole to the bottoms of the leather for around $50.00. This way you get comfort as well as durability.
