Wabam! I’m here in Toronto, basically the center of the Canadian universe for Canada’s Number 1 Fashion Week, LG Fashion Week! Woot! LG Fashion Week brings a lot of interntioanl press, buyers and some of the most talented designers from Canada and abroad, along with s up-and-coming talent selected through the Mercedes-Benz StartUp Program, designed to find “Canada’s next generation of fashion designers.”
We stopped by the grounds prior to the kick off to get the lay of the land…very important when one is running from show to show and occasionally trampling over poor, poor, little people (sorry in advance).
This season’s theme is Canada Cool, odd name, as it is a well know fact that Canada is freaking cold…but when I asked Rocket Promotions (they are the kick ass company handling the PR for the events, props to their support of Canadian arts and fashion!) the said:
Robin Kay, president of FDCC, said it is “influenced by the unique surroundings in our country.”
So there you have it, Canada is beautiful and cold….so Canada Cool. Suggestion for the next LGFW theme….Canada, Like a Boss!
