Sale Shopping Tips Part 1 – What not to Do
On your mark, Get set… Shop!!!
It’s that time of year at department stores where prices fall, the stores get messy, the service dwindles, and the shoppers are rabid! Which is the same reason why many people avoid sales but with these 5 simple tricks I will guide you to a victorious shopping experience that will enable you to save more money, get the best deals, and get the best designer clothing for you.
In a nut shell your goal is to get in, get out, and get gorgeous. The tried tested and true way is to plan what you will purchase, be thorough and precise with your shopping route, and to focus. If you love fashion and designers as much as I do you know how difficult this can be but to execute the perfect sale shopping experience you must stick to your plan.
Here is a list of things not to do:
This is not a time to browse. Leave the Sunday shopping for your granny. Sale season is more ruthless than hunting season so gear up and keep your eye on the prize.
Bring a friend who is fashionable and stick together. You will not have time to send a picture on your iphone to a friend in a different city or a different department so make sure they stick with you. When you are in the throngs of the sale pit the motto is “If you aren’t going to buy it, put it back!” Making these cut throat decisions are easier with a second opinion coming from a source that you trust. You need your friend close at all times and to be as decisive as Simon Cowell.
Don’t give the sales people the time of day. Unless they are a personal shopper, they are there to sell to you, not to style you. I have seen this a million times when the person is nearly forced into buying something because it is a STEAL in the eyes of the sales associate but the client never actually wants it, they end up returning it, and have then missed out on the rest of the sale.
Don’t ignore your shopping buddy. Learn to rely on your pal to steer you in the right direction with the two most important questions: “Should I try this on?” and “Should I take this home?”
Don’t buy something that is too small or too big. If you tell yourself you will grow into it or lose weight, you are lying and you will have just spent that money on a closet filler because that’s what it will become!
Now that you know what not to do you are ready for the sales shopping tips that’ll get you through the crap and into the designer swag you live for.
