Another Creative Director has left the building, but this exit is not as eventful as John Galliano, to say the least.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who was named President and CEO of the Halston Design House after movie mogul king-of-the-universe, Harvey Weinstein, along with Hilco Company, obtained the company. He gained the company in 2007 and handpicked SJP for the prestigious role.
It is no secret that since the creative process began with Parker in the drivers seat, the collaboration has been a bumpy road. It is rumored that Parker has creatively clashed with the brand, wanting the clothes to look a certain way and being unable to see her vision come to fruition.
Parker spoke about her situation in the August issue of Vogue, and the news was confirmed and made public in early July. It is also been released that not only did Parker part ways with the design house, but so did Weinstein and designer, Marios Schwab.
Rumors are swirling as to the financial situation of the legendary Halston House, who was once the face of luxury for some of the most trendsetting and fashion forward females like Elizabeth Taylor and Angelica Houston.
Whatever the reason for the abrupt split, the Halston House, founded in 1960 by Roy Halston Frowick, is now on the market for a new President and CEO.
