Picking up some choice Menswear for Fall 2012
I was cruising around some of my online shopping stomping grounds especially SSENSE when I realized, I have a blog so I should include you in my shopping. Some of the things I LOVE, some of the pieces I really dislike, and what I think is yesterday’s news. Many of the pieces may be popular in stores but that shouldn’t mean they should be picked up (at least in my opinion), but it’s only because I care about how you look when you leave the house and I always want my readers to be well informed in the world of fashion and understand trends on a bigger picture.
To start off the fun, here is a barrage of McQ pieces I want like the dickens! And that translated into English is… “these complete me.” The Black top with the gold military print on the front is $395.00 and also comes in a T-shirt. I prefer the button down because it adds a bit of class to the ensemble. And that’s what I’m all about. Being classy (AKA white girl drunk at work functions).
The rope printed t-shirt looks strikingly like snakes and when I am in a room full of snakes I sleep best, hence my attraction to this piece. Ew; okay I just creeped myself out! No, I just really like the print and if it was snakes I actually probably wouldn’t like it as much. Ropes though… ropes I can handle. Also the price tag, $205.
Next up is my man Rick Owens. I love his affinity for men in skirts (including himself) but moreover his dark and gloomy side really gets my fashion revving in high gear. This wrap top and shawl collar jacket really appeal to me. The shirt is $775, and the blazer is $1990.
Every man needs a great duffle bag and I highly suggest getting a nice one instead of one that look ugly. Sounds simple right? Wrong! The fact is, the market is, and has been, saturated with tired “distressed” leathers for some time and the vintage looking look is tired. For an immediate pick me up grab a clean sharp looking duffle in smooth lambskin or patent leather.
The Alexander Wang on the left is a good option for a style conscious man with high expectations for his weekend. The tarnished looking bag on the right is from Golden Goose and is a great bag for someone who disarms mines, in the woods, where no one will see you not even small tribes-people and I hope for your sake you don’t get lost and have to hawk that thing because I’m telling you right now you’re lucky to get half of a half of a goat for it… and that’s insulting… to the goat.
Alexander Wang duffle – $1500. Golden Goose duffle… $1425.
