How does Valentino make his designer handbags?
Ever wonder why a designer handbags are so expensive? Well It has a lot to do with the whole supply and demand side of things, BUT there are also more legitimate reasons to the explosive pricing which lay hidden in the details of the bag that we rarely pay attention to… (well I do)… but sometimes even I can’t see these hidden gems because they are all sewn up into the details of the seams of the bag, or the studs placed by hand, or the stones emblazoned on the front flap that have been mined from rare places of the Earth or whatever. Luckily for us, Valentino has allowed us a sneak peak into the world of designing a Rockstud bag.
Don’t be naive the video is done in a promotional way but seriously this is how it is done and that end result is the bag that arrives at Sas or where ever you find yourself shopping up the designer handbags. For $3345.00 I would say it is worth every penny. Literaly every strap is manhandled at least three five before it even touches the bag that it will be on. That’s attention to detail. First the dyeing, then the cutting, then the lasers, then the coating so it doesn’t fray, then the sewing for reinforcement, then the hole punching, then the studding! Wow that is like seven times per single zigzag leather strap. Most humans I see walking the streets don’t get that much affection in their lives. Sad Truth Moment!!! As a fashion blogger I have to tell it like it is… Anyway; then the bags are all finished and they get picked up by very lucky people who enjoy pretty things.
A Huge Thank you to Valentino for the video and images that take us behind the veil that is fashion design and the mystery that is designer handbags. You can also see why these types of handbags are limited and only have a limited quantity produced each year.
So go out and grab your before these handmade bags are all gone… forever.
