Viktor & Rolf Mens Fall 2012
The strangely simple Viktor and Rolf Fall 2012 collection kept in line with all the traditions of Fall 2012 plus a few.
The oversized fur pieces helped to add to the Russian theme that inspired the collection and create a wonderful depth of texture for the line. Viktor and Rolf are an amazing dynamic duo that truly believe that wearing well tailored leather pants beneath an equally fitted leather trench paired under a fur trimmed bomber is a fabulous look that is what every man needs.
Unfortunately, the looks shows on the catwalk were uninspired compared to their latter collections and carried no bearing or strength when concerning critic reviews or buyers perspectives. The honest feelings are surrounded the collection are mediocre, somewhat dissapointed and relatively on track with their relatively on track collection.
During the latter part of the collection the looks were all well tailored and fitted to be worn to a very luxurious dinner experience. The cost paid for any of these pieces would be well worth it mostly because the individual pieces were spot on, the tailoring was impeccable, and each piece was great on it’s own. Perhaps the problem was in the styling and the way that everything seemed so incredibly unattached to the collection. Except for the dinner jackets of course… they were fantastic!.
Hopefully next season they will employ a better stylist.
