Western Canada Fashion Week kicked off with a bang as many fresh faces from MC College showed their designs for the first time. First I’ll start out with a pic of me at WCFW.
Here is the lovely hostess Sandra Sing Fernandes with me and then here is another one of this vixen with the honorary chair Lynn Mandel (the mayor’s wife.)
And here is the chair I occupied (in front row(YAY!)) for the entire week of WCFW!
The first night was all about bright new designers showing what they had put together for the last year and being proud of their first collections. Here are some of the designers that showed along with my fly by the seat of my pants notes. Hope you can decipher them!

Day 1 was a blurry blast of fabric, designers, models, and bloggers and here are some of my blogging buddies from Edmonton.
Day 2 was all about launching new fashion careers successfully by allowing stylists and emerging designers, (most of which who have never created a collection before) to do so on the main stage at WCFW. The emerging designer who won last years prize, Andrea De Ocampo, showed her collection to a full house for the first time. All in all the show was surprisingly great as Andrea is only 16 years old! Due to her courage and determination last season, she put her design up for critique like many of the emerging designers did this season, and Andrea won. Western Canada Fashion Week is a great outlet for designers to show their collections to buyers, agents, and the media which is exactly what you want and need when you are starting out.
The Stylist Competition was won last season by Lance Chung and Brittanee Tomkow. They got to work their alteration magic on $750 worth of second hand fashions sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Alberta. The store generously donated the clothing and then Britanee and Lance took it from there turning these random second hand goodies into a full studded collection with real animal magnetism!
To be honest… I loved this collection!
Had to snap a pic with Britanee and Lance for Tomkow + Chung.
